Breakfast at The Lotus-Heart

From groans and cries
Or heartfelt sighs
Or birdsong
You stumble forth from sleep
And usual mornings come.
But breakfast at The Lotus-Heart
A rendez-vous you'll keep.

From smiles or fears
Or unshed tears
Or tangled dreams,
However are the ways
You start your days
These usual mornings come.
But breakfast at the Lotus Heart
Much benefit you'll reap.

From reveries of gains
Or night dream's hopes or pains
Or trembling thoughts
You venture into day.
These usual mornings bring
The song your life will sing...
But by my reckoning,
And sure as this dawn
The Lotus Heart is beckoning.
